Publication in VD magazine: The gesture of the minimal, ANKA Workshop towards Maison & Objet 2025
by sebastian kaczorowski
At ANKA Taller, we believe that design is born from the essential. Each piece we create seeks a balance between functionality, minimalism, and contemporary style, without losing the warmth and value of the handmade.
This approach was recently highlighted in El Mercurio's VD magazine, where our work was presented as an example of how Chilean design can engage with architecture, craftsmanship, and innovation.
From Santiago to Paris: a design journey
After five years exploring materials, processes and forms, today we are preparing to take a key step: representing Chile at the Maison & Objet international fair in Paris (September 2025).
With four of our most iconic chairs, including the Mudra Chair, inspired by meditation gestures, and the Pliego V2 Chair, a lighter and more versatile version of our original design, we will bring to Europe a proposal that combines the best of contemporary Chilean furniture with a universal language: simplicity.
Design with identity and a global perspective
In the words of VD magazine, our work “consolidates a minimalist and functional style.” This is no coincidence: every piece of furniture from ANKA Taller is created, tested, and perfected in our own workshop in Quinta Normal, Santiago. From there, pieces are born that seek to solve real needs with impeccable finishes, high-quality materials, and a timeless design.
We believe the power of design lies in its ability to convey a lot with a little. A minimal gesture can transform a space, and a well-designed chair can become the focal point.
Maison & Objet: an international showcase for Chilean design
Engage inMaison & Objet 2025 is more than just a trade fair for us: it's an opportunity to demonstrate that Chilean design can compete on equal footing in the global arena. Being present on this platform means paving the way, forging connections, and solidifying ANKA Taller's position as a leading voice in independent design with a global perspective.
The future of ANKA Workshop
Our commitment is to continue creating pieces that reflect who we are: honest, functional and durable design, created for those who value authenticity.
We invite you to join us on this journey. We'll soon be sharing more details about our participation in Maison & Objet and the journey of our chairs from Chile to Paris.
