Our first interview in Vivienda y Decoración magazine led us to a client who fell in love with the Mudra Chair . However, she needed a wider version to complement her spacious living room. Thus, the Mudra Chair was born , an evolution of our original design adapted to new spatial and functional needs.
A design that maintains its essence
The Mudra Chair stands out for its construction system based on wooden slats fitted into a crosswise dowel, providing a sturdy structure without the need for visible screws. Although the maximum dowel length is 60 cm , we were able to adapt the design within these dimensions to create a comfortable and spacious seat, without losing the essence of the original model.
Materials and finishes
For this version of the Mudra Chair , we used pine wood, which was painted black and then lacquered for an elegant and sophisticated finish. The result was a design that maintained its structural minimalism but with a more imposing presence, ideal for large, modern spaces. Our client was delighted with the result.
Currently, when we are asked for the Sitial Mudra in black , we prefer to avoid opaque paint and opt for a dyeing process , allowing the natural grain of the wood to remain visible. This not only highlights the authenticity of the material but also provides a more refined and handcrafted finish.
